Paris Olympics: B-Girl Raygun Faces Backlash After Debut Performance
Australian breakdancer B-Girl Raygun, also known as Rachael Gunn, has faced a massive backlash following her debut performance at the Paris Olympics. A petition calling for an apology from Raygun has gathered over 54,000 signatures, and there have been claims of manipulation in the Olympic qualification process. However, the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) has defended Raygun, saying she was selected through a transparent and independent process. Raygun has also asked for privacy, saying the backlash has been devastating. The WDSF has also supported Raygun, stating that the judging panel for the qualifying event consisted of nine independent international judges.
