Deadly Blast at Iranian Coal Mine Kills Over 50, Injures 20
A gas leak** triggered an explosion at an Iranian coal mine, killing more than 50 workers and injuring 20 others. The Tabas mine, located in eastern Iran, experienced the deadly blast on Saturday night. Rescue operations are currently underway to find remaining workers trapped beneath the rubble. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian offered his condolences and ordered a probe into the incident. The mine is owned by the private Iranian firm Madanjoo and is known for its mass reserves of coking and thermal coal.
