Russia Launches Ballistic Missile at Ukraine Amid Escalating Conflict
Russia has launched an intercontinental ballistic missile toward Ukraine, but an official told ABC News that the attack did not appear to be an ICBM. Instead, it was a ballistic missile aimed at Dnipro, in Ukraine's southeast. This comes after Ukraine used U.S.-made ATACMS missiles to strike targets within Russia for the first time, prompting Russia to lower the bar for a response with nuclear weapons. The conflict has escalated further, with Russia accusing Ukraine of firing six U.S.-made ATACMS missiles at the Russian region of Bryansk. The U.S. has confirmed the use of ATACMS on targets inside Russia. Russia has warned that the use of ATACMS inside its country could mean the U.S. and its NATO allies are at war with Russia.
