Nigerian Soccer Team Boycotts Libya Match Over Alleged Poor Treatment
Nigeria's Super Eagles boycott their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Libya due to poor treatment. The players were held at an abandoned airport for over 15 hours and were denied food, drink, and phone connection. The team's captain, William Troost-Ekong, said the team would not play the game for safety reasons. The Nigerian Football Federation has sent a formal complaint to the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
