The position has been vacant since Gareth Southgate's resignation following Euro 2024. Tuchel, 51, left Bayern Munich in May and has also managed Mainz, Borussia Dortmund, and Paris St-Germain. He won the Champions League, Fifa Club World Cup, and Uefa Super Cup with Chelsea before being sacked in 2022. If appointed, Tuchel would be the third non-British permanent manager of the England men's team, following Sven-Goran Eriksson and Fabio Capello. Tuchel has ruled himself out of managing Manchester United and is currently out of work after leaving Bayern Munich in the summer.
