The End of the Golden Owl Treasure Hunt
The End of the Golden Owl Treasure Hunt
After 31 years, the renowned French treasure hunt for the Golden Owl has finally come to a close. The book, On The Trail Of The Golden Owl, was published in 1993 by Regis Hauser and Michel Becker, and contained 11 challenging puzzles to solve. The first person to crack the clues would receive an owl made of 3kg of gold and 7kg of silver. This week, the replica of the owl was unearthed, marking the end of an era for the more than 200,000 players from France and abroad. The winner, who has yet to be announced, will receive the treasure valued at €150,000 (£125,000).
