Moderators Slammed for Fact-Checking Vance During Vice Presidential Debate
Critics are blasting CBS News moderators for repeatedly fact-checking Republican Senator JD Vance during Tuesday night's vice presidential debate with Democratic Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.
Despite CBS announcing that it would not allow live fact-checking during the debate, the moderators repeatedly did so, interrupting Vance and speaking over him. Vance pushed back, reminding the moderators of the debate rules and insisting on sharing his views.
Fox News' Brit Hume and Laura Ingraham were among the critics who slammed the moderators for their 'obnoxious' fact-checking and 'smug, arrogant bias.'
CBS News anchors Norah O'Donnell and Margaret Brennan have not yet responded to the criticism.
