Deadly Plane Crash in Brazil: 62 Killed, Including 57 Passengers and 4 Crew Members
On Friday, a passenger plane carrying 61 people crashed outside of São Paulo, Brazil, killing everyone on board.** The airline, Voepass Linhas Aéreas, said that flight 2283 was en route to São Paulo’s international airport Guarulhos from Cascavel when it crashed in Vinhedo, Brazil. The cause of the crash is still under investigation, but the plane, an ATR 72 twin-engine turboprop, appears to have lost signal and crashed in a residential neighborhood. Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has confirmed that all on board have died. The airline is prioritizing providing assistance to the victims’ families and working with authorities to determine the cause of the crash.
