911 Calls Show Dispatch Overload in Georgia High School Shooting
On September 4th, at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia, a shooting left two teachers and two students dead. The local emergency dispatch center was overwhelmed with 911 calls, leaving callers on hold for extended periods. Four people were killed and seven injured, with the suspected gunman, 14-year-old Colt Gray, charged with four counts of felony murder. His father, Colin Gray, is charged with involuntary manslaughter for allowing his son access to the weapon. Investigators believe Colt Gray received the AR-style gun used in the shooting as a Christmas present from his father. Apalachee High School students are set to return to class on September 23rd.
